Hotel history

The construction of the building was completed in early 1976, when its implementation was planned as part of the so-called ” Z ” action, i.e. “voluntary involuntary”, unpaid work activities of local citizens for the purpose of improving the city. During its operation, the then “Start hotel” gained a very good reputation and was one of the most important accommodation facilities in the region. At that time, the well-equipped hotel in a quiet part of the city, connected to the sports complex, was a popular place for all travelers heading to the Bohemian Paradise. It was also popular with sports clubs, which used it for winter and summer training of their wards. The hotel changed owners several times, but for almost 30 years there was no major reconstruction or extensive maintenance work, so time took its toll and the building almost completely fell into disrepair. The city of Jičín considered reconstruction from its own resources, but in the end, the councilors decided to sell it to a private owner. The new owners of the building in 2010 were experienced Jičín entrepreneurs Mr. Brusák and Mr. Ent, who were already successful family hotel operators at that time. The general reconstruction of the building took place between 2010 and 2018. The owners named their new project characteristically “hotel reSTART****” as a reminder of the glorious history and successful future that lies ahead.
